Concealment armour explained
Concealed body armour is designed to be worn under street clothes or uniforms. The design of both the wearer and soft armour panels must be stylish and clean to avoid being obvious. Any fasteners on the outside of the carrier will show through the outer garments. Since concealable body armour is worn on the body or over a t-shirt, moisture wicking fabrics are often used for the inside of the backing.
ADVANTAGE OF THE CONCEALED BODY ARMOUR
An important advantage of the concealed body armour is that an opponent is not fully aware of the ballistic protection. During a firearms incident, an assailant will likely aim for the largest area of the body, the chest area. This is the most natural response in a high-stress situation. It is the chest area that is protected by a bulletproof vest. The visible presence of the bulletproof vest could cause an opponent to target an unprotected part of the body.
